GVS – from blood filters to global respiratory protection manufacturer

Founded in Italy in 1979, GVS had a clear focus on producing medical filters for blood treatment in its early years. Already in 1986, they obtained their first patent. Today, they have about 60 patents in total.

GVS expanded its production in the 1990s. For the first time, a third plant was opened in Italy, and the company began producing filters and masks for the car industry. Later, the company expanded internationally—to Belgrade, where GVS was a war medical partner. At the same time, GVS masks and filters also began to reach America and Brazil. Soon, the production followed.

Even in the early years, GVS prioritized product quality. The commitment of certificates shows this perfectly! GVS was one of the first to obtain ISO9001 quality certification. This was followed by a number of other important durability certifications appreciated in Italy and elsewhere.

In 1999, GSV received the first patent in the car industry for special ABS brake system filters. What does it mean? GVS has developed a special filter solution for protecting wheel speed sensors from metal dust contamination and failure to detect wheel slip.
